The Class:

In acting, as in life, we are most fulfilled, effective and powerful when we are inhabiting the present moment.

With a special emphasis on developing the actor’s ability to become vividly present, this class will also greatly sharpen the actor’s skillset: acting technique, accessing emotions, on camera technique, text analysis, voice technique, character physicality and audition technique. Presence leads you to strong connection with yourself, your intuition, your scene partners, co-creatives and all your relationships on and off camera. Combining authentic presence with a strong foundation of technique will give you the edge you’re looking in your acting. With every challenge and unexpected circumstance in acting and in life, developing authentic presence will empower you to become who and how you want to be as an actor, and as a human being.

“Ben has an unparalleled attention to detail that is grounded in a training and perspective unlike most acting teachers in North America. I love working with his ideas and continually come back to many of the tools he has shared with me over the years. The passion, enthusiasm, care and stamina Ben brings for both the work and the human being has been an immense source of support.” – Rekha Sharma : Credits include: Star Trek Discovery; The Fosters; The 100; Arrow; Shattered; V; Battlestar Galactica; Smallville; Da Vinci’s City Hall

“Ben is one of the finest, most present, and most thoughtful actors I have ever known and worked with. He has an intense passion for the craft. He cares. He understands and respects the process and is able to articulate his knowledge with precision and clarity. He has deep insight into human nature, and every conversation with him is illuminating. That he has decided to turn his attention to teaching is a gift to the next generations of actors who want to master their craft.”and many more. – David Sutcliffe : Credits include: Glimore Girls; The Romanoffs; Proof; Mistresses; Cracked; Private Practice; The Division; I’m With Her

“Ben approaches the work with such respect and reverence, no matter the subject matter or material. He has a way of making you feel uniquely valued and relevant as a person, which in turn allows for bold and courageous exploration of character and self. In working with him, I’ve found myself digging deeper, and thus paying homage to the mere act of storytelling simply by saying the words, breathing, and connecting to the symbiotic truths of both actor and character. I would highly recommend any class, project or workshop with Ben Bass’ name attached. Honest, poignant, and simply celebratory of the craft we so adore.” – Miranda MacDougall : Credits include: The Flash, Warrior & Tape
